Culminating Experiences

Events shown in bold are culminating experiences. These required rehearsals and performances are essential parts of the course and contribute to each student’s overall grade. Because the experience of performing with the ensemble cannot be recreated through an alternate assignment, missing a culminating experience for an avoidable reason means that a student cannot earn an A for that grading period.

Students will not be penalized for significant illness, religious observances, family emergencies, important family obligations such as weddings or funerals, or other circumstances genuinely outside their reasonable control. Vacations, work-scheduling problems, forgotten dates, avoidable conflicts, and choosing to attend another extracurricular or third-party activity are not ordinarily considered excused absences.

Students should review these dates now, share them with their families, employers, coaches, and activity leaders, and make the necessary arrangements to avoid conflicts. Known or potential conflicts must be communicated to Mr. Eisemann as early as possible.
